Open the page you have never opened

Open the page you have never opened

Ask most venues when they last looked at their postage settings and the honest answer is “when we went live." The page was up on day one, did its job, and has not been opened since. That’s fine for a quiet month, but yours is about to become one of your busiest.

Why this matters

Postage is one of the last things a guest sees before they decide to buy. If your rates were set up when you first went live with Toggle and never revisited, they were built for quiet trade, not the winter rush. A guest hunting for good value will happily buy the same sort of gift elsewhere if your checkout feels expensive at the final step. That is revenue walking over to a competitor over a couple of pounds.

This first lesson is quick. See exactly what every guest is charged and how long ago you set it, because you cannot sharpen a rate you have never looked at.

Your next move
  1. Log in to Toggle and go to Settings, then Postage Settings.
  1. Read every live option under each product type you sell, gift cards, on demand cards or greetings gift cards.
  1. Against each one, note when you last changed the price. “Never” is the most common answer, and you are in very good company.
  1. Flag any option where the price climbs as a guest adds more cards. A charge that grows with the basket quietly penalises your biggest orders, the very ones you most want to win.
  1. Read the Fulfilment Dispatch Times callout on the same page so your own cut-offs are clear. Royal Mail confirms its Christmas dates a little later each year, and we will let you know the moment they land.

To make keeping track as easy as possible, we have just updated the Postage Settings page. Your Gift Card and On Demand options now group together by product type, each with its option count and live status on show, so everything sits on one clear screen.

That's lesson one done

That is the first tip in the series done, and it took about ten minutes. You now know exactly what every guest pays at checkout and how long those prices have stood, which is more than most venues can say this close to Black Friday and Christmas. Keep an eye out for the next one, landing soon.
