Get Together: A Hospitality Billboard Campaign
A black and white shot of Harry Styles, balancing a glass sphere on his head and riding an ostrich down a Parisian street. The frame is filled with beautiful people, wearing beautiful clothes, clutching cocktails and Champagne coupes, spilling out of bars and restaurants into the twinkling street. “Get together with the gift of the best local restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs,” it says in very tiny but tasteful font at the bottom left of the poster*.
As it was December, we knew our billboard campaign would be competing with the lavish ads from luxury brands, so we went all out. We blew the budget on a sexy, cinematic and cerebral execution, shot on location by a big-name photographer that would give the perfume ads a run for their money….
Nah, did we heck.
What we actually did was create five pretty silly ads, that were rooted in local humour and encouraged consumers to give the gift of hospitality this Christmas (rather than yet another pair of socks or a scented candle.)
Though we have spent an eternity trying to choose one: we just can’t pick a favourite. Whilst in Leeds the ad read, “Ey Up, a gift card you can eat”...
Manchester’s execution was, “This isn’t a billboard. It’s a Wonderwall of gifts”:
Other cities include the likes of Liverpool with: “Come together, right now. Share a treat”:
Birmingham had: “The Brum Fun Directory’:
and in London, we went for: “We all know the Central Line is the worst: And we all know socks aren’t a gift”.
Last but not least, we paid homage to our hometown of Sheffield the best way we know how: through channelling our greatest export (The Arctic Monkey).
