Airship supports Hospitality Action with its Track & Trace solution
Hospitality technology specialist Airship is to donate 20% of ongoing revenue from its Track & Trace solution, Trck.to, to industry charity Hospitality Action.
Airship kick started its support with a £5,000 donation to Hospitality Action, and will be giving the charity 20% of the ongoing license revenue it receives from hospitality businesses using Trck.to.
Hospitality Action offers vital assistance to those who work, or have worked, in the hospitality sector. From physical illness or mental health issues to financial hardship, family difficulties or addiction - Hospitality Action provides the help people need to get back on their feet. In response to the global pandemic, the charity opened applications for emergency relief grants in March to hospitality professionals who have fallen on hard times as a result of COVID-19.
Airship was one of the first to respond to the Government’s guidance around collecting customer data to help prevent COVID-19 outbreaks, launching within six days of the announcement. It has since been rolling out Trck.to in hundreds of outlets every day, including sports clubs, theatres and churches as well as bars, pubs and restaurants, and refining the product to deliver a smooth journey for both customers and operators.
In the same breath, Hospitality Action launched Invisible Chips, whereby people are encouraged to donate the cost of a portion of chips, which would be used to support people working in hospitality that have fallen on hardship as a result of the pandemic.
Airship CEO Dan Brookman said: “With over a million customer check-ins on Trck.to, we’re working to become the choice provider of a Track & Trace solution to the hospitality industry and beyond – and we’re still getting many new enquiries every week, as more businesses reopen.
“If customers see an operator is taking its commitment to Track & Trace seriously, they feel they’re in safe hands. It starts to rebuild consumer confidence, which, combined with the VAT reduction and Eat Out to Help Out, will help the hospitality industry to recover.
He added: “Hospitality Action have been doing fantastic work, helping hospitality teams through lockdown and their return to work. We’re delighted to be doing our bit to ensure they can carry on their invaluable support for our industry.”
Operators already signed up to Trck.to include: Caffé Nero, Camden Town Brewery, Costa Coffee, Crussh, Hotel Chocolat, Leon, Mildreds, Mission Mars, Ole & Steen, Pret a Manger, Roadchef and Vagabond.
